We wanted to come in here with some updates on some of the things regarding the situation currently in CFNA.

Known Hacks
Over the last 2-3 weeks we have been intently tracking a specific hack which name will go unnamed to keep the spread low.

This particular hack has been the #1 target by both the developers and Wiselogic within CrossFire.

X-Trap Updates
As a result from this, there has been an X-Trap update recently with some added protections against this hack. While this may not solve all the problems it's a continued step in the right direction.

X-Trap has also updated again with some compatibility issues regarding Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 which should help some users as well.

HGW Changes
Next we have some HGW news in that our turnaround time for reporting HGW hacks has increased dramatically, where we were on a 24 hour turnaround period, we have upped this to now 12-24 hours. Which means we're updating known hacks within the server side detection system faster. Which means more kicks and bans for hacking.

In addition, we have increased our HGW bans to include any files we find which aide players contained on hacking websites. As we've done in the past for farming tools, we are now addressing every file found on major hacking websites in order to continue to frustrate users and cause problems for those communities and players.

The Future
We have seen some decrease in hacking as a result of the measures above, we are no where near out of the woods. We are working with management within our company, and within the developers and Wiselogic to look at alternative solutions to the hacking problem. This does not mean X-Trap is going away, but it does mean that everyone is aware of the issues in front of us and are doing our best to address those issues within the capabilities of our company.
